My Vacation Beauty Routine in Mexico

By now, I am sure you all have realized that aside from fashion, beauty products hold a special place in my heart.

And it breaks my heart that when I go on vacation, not everyone gets to come along. I’d like to think that I have perfected what to pack and what’s essential when it comes to traveling! And the best part about a beach vacation is that you can minimize your beauty routine and leave extra room in your suitcase for swimsuits, because you realistically only need a handful of makeup products!

Recently while in Mexico, and after several years of taking TOO MANY BEAUTY PRODUCTS abroad, I finally had a revelation in regards to THE ONLY items I actually needed & would use to create the ultimate Mexican makeup glow! Here’s a peek at what what in my makeup bag….actually, here’s a peek at the ONLY ITEMS I ACTUALLY USED!

Lune + Aster CC Cream with SPF50: This CC cream rates pretty high on my list for several reasons: 1) The coverage is BEYOND! 2) It gives you the ultimate dewy glow! 3) It is one of the only CC creams that has never broken out my skin. 4) HELLO, SPF 50!!!! Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?!

Becca x Chrissy Teigen Palette: Isn’t it awesome when you find a product that checks all the boxes of 3 different products? That’s exactly what this palette does! Chrissy Teigen thought of everything: it’s got bronzer, blush, & 2 highlighters, one pink-toned & one that’s a little more golden, bronze. This palette will not only free up lots of space in your makeup bag, but it will also be guaranteed to warrant you some compliments when people mention how gorgeous & fresh-faced you look!

MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick Little: This color has been my go-to for quite some time now. Not only is it great alone, but it’s also really beautiful when you layer it with a clear, nude, or shimmery gloss! So imagine my surprise when I discovered that this shade is sold in “Littles,” which is basically a smaller, petite, travel-size of this favorite!!!! It’s perfect for vacation & also perfect for throwing into some of my tiny clutches!

Laura Geller Lip Gloss in City Lights: Chances are if you ask me at any point what clear, shimmery gloss I have on when I’m not wearing any makeup, its THIS gloss. Originally, I discovered it in a gift set, but sadly, the gloss wasn’t sold by itself. Fast forward almost 2 years, and you can FINALLY find it from time to time online! (Insider tip: They sell it in holiday lipgloss sets during Christmas time, and this year, I stocked up and bought 5 sets so they would last me throughout the year!) The reason I continually reach for this gloss is because its GORGEOUS alone, not intimidating to wear with a fresh face, or it looks beautiful layered over your favorite shade. For Mexico, its ideal for mornings at breakfast on the beach or when your laying out!

Supergoop! Defense Refresh Setting Mist with SPF 50: Why it took so long for someone to finally create this kind of product beats me, but count on Supergoop! to be the geniuses behind it! When you are headed to the beach, this product MUST be in your suitcase! During the day when you are in the sun, keep this product in an ice bucket…that way when it hits your skin, its not only cooling you off, but its adding another layer of SPF50! At nighttime, once your makeup is complete, spritz this mist all over as a makeup setting spray! Ps. This mist is a great way to trick men into using SPF….between the smell and how cooling it is, they’ll never know you are helping them from burning!

Kopari Coconut Melt Mini: When it comes to vacation, the only thing worse than burnt skin is dry skin! Kopari is finally offering their signature coconut melt in a mini, travel size….and I AM A HAPPY GIRL! I put this shit on EVERYTHING. After a long day on the beach, this product is great for nourishing your skin, the bottoms of your feet, or even by giving yourself a hydrating hair mask! Ditch the lotions while you’re on vacation and stick to this. Your skin will thank you.

What are the only makeup items you take with you on a beach vacay?!
